SUPER WEEKEND II

Good day everyone and it’s another SUPER WEEKEND so regardless of how this week has gone, it’s time to put a smile on your face as you look forward to a lovely weekend and a great week after that.

So on this SUPER WEEKEND, I’ll be discussing briefly some news highlights I caught up with during the course of the week so you have a chance to tell me what I missed out on.

– CLERIC REVEALS PRESIDENTIAL ASSASSINATION PLOT
In a move that will leave Jack Bauer red in the face, a popular cleric in Nigeria revealed a plot to assassinate President Buhari. How he came up with this revelation is not the issue but the President can rest assured he has that man of God watching his back. I think PMB should put the man of God on his security detail. Gives him that added physical and spiritual edge.

– IMF BOSS VISITS NIGERIA
CHRISTINE LAGARDE, the IMF Boss was in Nigeria during the week and the panic button was set on overdrive that the current administration was about to secure a loan. But the IMF boss has quelled that notion by stating that Nigeria does not need another loan.
Well, what can I say other than time will tell, right? Right.

– DASUKIGATE
And of course, what happens in Nigeria these days without a mention of DasukiGate? The largesse just keeps on spreading and the way it’s going, I need to go check my bank account to be sure I didn’t miss some crumbs. Every week, new names crop up so much so that even Chief Olu Falae was alleged to have gotten a slice of the pie. Stay tuned for more names this coming week. No one is safe anymore.

– CAF AWARDS
And in sports, Yaya Toure is in the news this time and guess what, not for his goals or assists but like a spoilt child who has lost his favorite toy to another kid, the Ivorien has made so much noise about missing out on his birthright, the African Footballer of the Year Award, to Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
He has labelled CAF all manner of unflattering names.
Chin up, Yaya and share a cup with Olamide. (That name again)
